In just a few short hours, the Shupe Family is heading to Chicago! I am sooo excited! I have a million things to do before we leave, and I am at work getting none of them done. It happens to be a beautiful "spring-like" day here in Detroit, and I am suffering a little bit of Spring Fever.
No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to get anything done at work!! So, I thought I would blog about my trip that I am so excited to take!! :)
We are leaving at 5pm, probably more like 6pm when all is said and done, and we hope to be in Chicago by midnight!!! Late night, but well worth it. Saturday the plan is to drive into Schaumburg, Illinois and check out lego land. I am very excited for that.....and since Lego Land is right next to Woodfield Mall, we decided that we will head over there for a few and go to the Rainforest Cafe for Dinner. While at Woodfield Mall, we are going to be building cars at a fun place called RideMakerz....the boys should love that!
On sunday we are checking out downtown and visiting the American Girl store, Nike Town, sears tower, Ed Debevic's, and all the other fun places downtown Chicago.
On Monday we have plans to go to the Field Museum, they have free admission on Monday which is perfect for our family, that way if it only last 5 minutes, you dont feel bad that you paid a ton of money in admission, and if it lasts all day, we got a heck of a deal!!
Tuesday we'll head back home! It should be loads of fun, and I am so very excited! I'll be sure to post lots of pictures when we get back!!!

Totally Bored
Ok, so I'm sitting at work, and its sooooooo dead! I was just debating with myself whether its worse to be quiet or busy??? I am not 100% sure of that answer, but regardless this is painful! I have to work weekends the entire month of February - no fun. So here I am on Valentines day, sitting on the 14th floor of my building in Detroit bored out of my mind.
I did however discover that I can blog from work, I thought for sure this would be a blocked website, so I never even tried to do it at work, and today while browsing the internet (shhh!) I came across a blog and it worked, so here I am typing about my oh so boring day at work!
Life has been pretty low key lately, kids have been battling colds and poor little Joey came down with a flu last week. Hopefully our household is now done with the nasty flu for the rest of the year! We have been giving each kid daily breathing treatments and listening to the harmony of coughs coming from each child, I think we are on the mend, and Josh and I have even been able to escape the horrible cough. My poor mother-in-law (what a blessing) has been back and forth to the doctors almost daily with doctor appointments and follow-ups for each of them.
Justin and Jacob tried a karate class, and the absolutely loved it. They got a cute little uniform and even got to break their first board....they thought that was pretty cool! I am hoping to get them in swim lessons at the end of this month, its so hard though because with Josh and I both working, most of the younger children classes are all at like 4 and 5 pm and that makes it extremely difficult, if not impossible for us to get them there on time. We hate to rely on others to help us get them there, our families are already doing so much for us on a regular basis.
Ok, I can see I am taking my boredom out on my readers, if there are any - lol!!! I'm sorry...I have some more I feel like writing, but i think i will just put it for antoher post and save it for another day - lol!!
Until next time!!

Castaway Bay
Josh and I decided to take the kids on a little mini-vacation to Castway Bay. It's an indoor waterpark just outside of Cedar Point. We had a LOT of fun. Granny and Pa-paw came with us and had a blast. The pools are great for kids, although they were a little cold, maybe cuz its the dead of winter - ha ha.
We couldn't get Joey out of the water, and just when you think one kid couldn't possibly go down the slide again, he runs back around for another trip down the slide. Joey didn't quite understand the concept of taking turns and waiting in line, even though we explained it to him 8 million times. The kids were pretty patient with him, but he kept cutting in front of them. Madison seemed to enjoy the water, although it was a little cool. Josh and I both wonder why the water wasn't a little warmer - oh well!!
I don't have many pictures cuz the humidity in the pool area kept fogging up the lens. And for some reason the pictures I did get, did not turn out too well, again because of the humidity I'm sure.

2009 Resolutions
I know that its already the middle of January, but this is the first chance I've had to really sit down and write out my resolutions. I'm keeping it fairly simple, but I figured writing them down is an important step in the process.
And although its already a little over 2 weeks into the new year, I will have you know, I have been putting them into action already....so that counts for something!!! This is kind of a joint resolution for our family!!
1. Be Healthier
2. Get out of Debt
3. Get Organized
There ya have it.....our resolutions!!

Merry Christmas
I can't believe its over.....all the shopping, cooking, planning, wrapping, for the past month and a half, and its over just like that....whew! Why is it that the older you get, the faster life wants to go by. It's not fair....when you finally reach the age where you really appreciate things for what they are, you barely have time to really sit back and enjoy it!
Christmas was a lot of fun. We started off Monday night with the Collins/Cooper Family Christmas party. We got to see a lot of my cousins and now their kids, and catch up on old times. Wednesday was Christmas Eve and we spent the evening at my parents house with a wonderful meal and of course presents.
Christmas morning everyone came over to our house to open presents. Granny and Pa-paw came over, and Pa-paw made his wonderful pancakes. Nanny, Papa, and Uncle Sean came over too. They helped the kids set up a few of their new toys and then went back home to open their presents. We had lots of yummy food for breakfast, including an awesome French Toast Bake!! We opened presents and stayed in our jammies all day playing with all of our new Toys. Uncle Aaron and Becky stayed over all day too, and played and watched movies, and just hung out. What a perfect laid back Christmas Day!!!
We had a yummy christmas dinner and continued hanging out and playing with the new toys. Josh and I got a Nintendo Wii for Christmas, so we all had fun playing the Wii. Josh got a little too into his Wii bowling game, and he almost took out the Wii, our TV, and our Glass Doorwall. Lucky for us, his knee got the worst of it, and everything else made it through!
